Archiving & Electronic Backup
Journal of Communication, Religious, and Social Sciences (JoCRSS) has electronic backup and ensures long-term access to its content via the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN).
PKP has developed the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) to digitally preserve journals published using OJS. The LOCKSS program offers decentralized and distributed preservation, seamless perpetual access, and preservation of the authentic original version of the content. The PKP PN ensures that journals not included in other digital preservation services (such as CLOCKSS or Portico) can be preserved for long-term access.
All articles published by JoCRSS have a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to guarantee authors long-term archiving. With the DOI, all articles in JoCRSS remain accessible even if the journal’s URL changes. Moreover, JoCRSS utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries, allowing these libraries to maintain permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes.
